WORLD AIDS DAY – St. Thomas College

The P.G. Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology organized an awareness rally to commemorate World AIDS Day on 1^st December 2023. This year’s theme for World AIDS Day is “World AIDS Day 35: Remember and Commit”. This day is mainly celebrated to bring people together and raise awareness about HIV and AIDS and to demonstrate solidarity to the affected people.

The staff and students of P.G. Department of Microbiology & Biotechnology in collaboration with NCC Unit of the college conducted the rally to create awareness amongst its students and the local people in Ruabandha sector about the causes, social stigma associated with the disease and also to encourage progress in AIDS prevention. Principal In-charge Dr James Mathew, flagged off the rally from the college campus to BSP Middle school, Ruabandha sector. The students from both PG and UG enthusiastically participated in the activity and raised slogans related to AIDS awareness. All science students and teachers participated in the rally along with NCC cadets creating awareness against the spread of HIV and AIDS.
