Education is the best way to learn in life

Education is the best means of learning in life, there is no alternative to it, said Vartika Srivastava from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata. She spoke at a lecture organized by the Department of Journalism at St. Thomas College, Bhilai on Wednesday. This lecture was organized on ‘Past and Present of Women Discourse in Indian Cinema’. He further explained the changing role of women in the film world and the technical aspects of film production.

Dr. Prashant Srivastava, Dean of Student Welfare, Hemchand Yadav University, Durg, was the special guest in the lecture. He said that in today’s journalism, it is more of a challenge to work with balance and without personal bias.

College administrator Father Dr. Joshi Varghese encouraged the journalism department for such programs. While the principal of the college, Dr. M.G. Roymon has called cinema a medium for journalism students to make their expression more creative.

Dr. Reema Dewangan, Head of the Journalism Department, facilitated Vartika Srivastava with a memento. The program was conducted by assistant professor Mukesh Kumar, of the journalism department. In this program, the welcome speech was given by Assistant Professor Amitabh Sharma, and a vote of thanks was given by Srishti Dubey, a student of BAJMC 4th semester. On this occasion, a large number of students including Assistant Professor Chhavi Kiran Sahu were present.
