PG Department of Chemistry organized an International Webinar on the topic “Paradigm shift in Chemical Sciences: The Present Scenario”

PG Department of Chemistry, St. Thomas College, organized an International Webinar on the topic “Paradigm shift in Chemical Sciences: The Present Scenario” on 10th July 2020. First of all Principal of the College, Dr. M.G. Roymon welcomed all the invited speakers. Administrator of the college, Very Rev. Father GeeVarghese Rambhan said that a series of webinars are conducted by various departments of the college. Dr. James Mathew, Head, P.G. Department of Chemistry, St. Thomas College delivered the introductory speech about the webinar. The Keynote Speaker Prof. Ashok Pandey, Distinguished Scientist from IITR, Lucknow, discussed about the topic “Global Warming – Challenges in energy and Environmental Sustainability.” Prof. Anupama Asthana, Chairperson, Board of Studies in chemistry, Hemchand Yadav Vishvavidyalaya, Durg talked about the opportunities in the chemical industries like making of PPE kit by Chemicals like polycarbonate propionate, ozone therapy to fight with viruses. Dr. Anil Pandey, Principal Software Engineer from  Germany discussed about the machine learning. Dr. Preeti Chaturvedi Senior Scientist from IITR, Lucknow explained about the water parameter and insights of “NAMAMI GANGE” campaign. The webinar was successfully conducted by Dr. Chanda Verma, Additional HOD, PG Department of Chemistry and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Vinita Thomas, Dean Academics, St. Thomas College Bhilai.
