
The National Service Scheme unit of this College was started in 1987. One of the chief objectives of NSS is to give urban students an insight into the life of rural areas. It also aims at inculcating selflessness and dedication towards service to others. Other activities undertaken by this unit on regular basis include blood donation, book donation, medicine collection and distribution to the poor and the needy etc. NSS volunteers also participate in State and National level camps. B and C level examinations are conducted and certificates awarded by the University.

NSS ACTIVITIES
- Cleaning of College Campus : The College campus was cleaned by the NSS voluteers. Slogans against the use of polythene bags were raised by the students.
- Tree Plantation : Tree plantation was conducted in the College. More than 112 trees were planted round the year on different occasions.
- Independence Day and Teachers Day Celebration : Independence Day and Teachers Day were celebrated in College in which the NSS volunteers participated and presented colorful cultural programmes.
- Poster Making Competitions : Inter collegiate poster making competition was held in the College. The topic of the competition was “Conservation Of Solar Energy”. Nine colleges participated in competition in which Ms. Bhoomika Dhote of St. Thomas College bagged the first prize.
- NSS Day Celebration : NSS Day was celebrated in the College with great enthusiasm . Volunteers presented various cultural programmes focusing on the motive of NSS namely, “NSS is not an activity, it is a lifestyle.”
- Workshop on Conservation of Solar Energy : A workshop on conservation of solar energy was conducted in the College. The programme was organized by CREDA.
- Gandhi Jayanti Celebration : Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated by the NSS unit by visiting an old age home.
- Candle Making Training : A training programme on candle making was held in the College under the banner of NSS in which students were trained for making candles.
- Awareness Programme : Cancer Awareness programme was held on 24th November in which Dr. A.M Kekre (Director) Sector-1 hospital was the guest speaker.
- Medicine Collection : Medicines were collected by NSS volunteers and were distributed to the poor and needy.
