A Faculty Development Program  was organised  on 12th May 2017 by the Spoken Tutorial Project of St Thomas College at the computer lab to enhance the know how of this self learning technology using  audio-video tutorial that explains an activity performed on the computer.

The Spoken Tutorial project is the initiative of the ‘Talk to a Teacher’ activity of the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India and developed by IIT Bombay.


All the faculty members joined this workshop to understand the usage of these tutorials that support self learning of a particular FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) .  In this program LINUX (Ubuntu) and Libre OFFICE  (Writer ) was taken as  an example. All Departments were benefited by this FWP as the faculty members came to know  about the softwares  associated with their subjects and how to learn these softwares using Spoken tutorials. 




 The Principal Dr M.G Roymon , IQAC Coordinater  Dr. Vinita Thomas,  Shift Incharges  Dr. Mariam Jacob and Dr James Mathew  also joined the workshop for learning about  FOSS.

Mrs Smita Suresh Daniel conducted the program . Mr Santosh Miri,Ms K. Manju ,Ms  Preeti Jain and Mr Pushkar assisted the Program.
