Half Yearly Examination for the session 2019-20 will be conducted from 18th November 2019


Half Yearly Examination for the session 2019-20 will be conducted from 18th November 2019.  It is mandatory for all I, II & III  year of B.A, B.Sc, B.Com & B.C.A  students to attempt this examination.  Time table has been displayed on the Notice Board.

The exam will be conducted paper wise for each subject and the maximum marks for each paper will be as per the University pattern.

According to the University order 10% of the marks obtained in each paper will be added to the final examination marks.

The students who fail to give the Half Yearly Exam will be marked ABSENT.


Notice for admission 2019

Application forms (online and offline) for admission to Undergraduate courses-BAJMC, B.C.A, B.B.A, B.A, B.Com (Plain), B.Com with Computer Application, B.Sc (Biotechnology, Microobiology, Computer Science, Physics, Electronics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, IT) are available.

Those students who have scored 60% and above 60% in 12th standard they can take SPOT ADMISSION for the above U.G courses.

Downloaded Application Form should be filled and submitted in the college office before 15th June 2019, along with copies of 10th & 12th mark sheet by paying Rs.100/-

The student residing outside Bhilai and outer state, can submit the filled application form alongwith 10th & 12th marksheet and D.D. of Rs.100/- in favour of “The Principal, St.Thomas College, payable at Bhilai either by speed post or courier. The form should reach the office before 15th June 2019.

List of candidates selected for admission will be published on college website/ notice board on 18th June 2019.

Hostel facilities are available only for female students in the college premises.

St. Thomas College Inaugurates the Celebration of National Science Day -2019

St. Thomas College inaugurates the celebration of National Science day -2019: Theme-Communicating Science to All.

Dr. K. Subramanian, Director General of Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology (CCOST) inaugurated the celebration. In his inaugural address, he generated awareness about various aspects of scientific research ideas and emphasised on innovations beneficial to mankind.  His Grace Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, Manager Bishop blessed the gathering with his words of wisdom and emphasised the importance of fundamental science and its role in improving skills of life. Principal Dr. M.G. Roymon welcomed the gathering. A workshop titled “Safer Use Of Internet” was oraganised for parents. The workshop was conducted by DSP Crime Branch, Mr. Rajesh Mishra, SBI Nominee Samvit Biswas, Amit Roy and Ashsish Kujur, Dr. Santosh Miri (Deparment of Computer) and Mr. Tejes Patel (PGDCA). Dr. V. Shanthi and Dr. S. Diwan conducted the programmes. Dr. S. Varghese proposed the vote of thanks. The Parents, students and staff members contributed to success of programme.  Dr. V. Thomas, Dr. S.Mendonce, Dr. U. Supe, Dr. C. Verma, Mr. M. Patel, Dr. A.K. Bhui were also present in this occasion.



The Entrepreneurship Development Cell was inaugurated on 24th November, 2018 by Dr. Ashok Chandra, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies and Cordinator of ED Cell,  BIT, Durg.  The main objective of this cell is to create a platform for self-employment, promote innovation, incubation and entrepreneurial skill through formal and non- formal programs to the student community of the college. Through this cell, it was proposed to organize various dimensional activities.

Rev. Fr. George Mathew Ramban, Administrator of the college presided over the occasion.   Dr. M.G.Roymon, Principal of the college addressed the meeting.  Dr. Bhuvana Venkatraman, Convenor of the ED Cell of the college welcomed the gathering.  The programme was conducted by Dr. Shubha Diwan, Co-convenor of the ED Cell.  Dr. Ashok Chandra delivered the inaugural address by motivating young student folks by encouraging their interests towards entrepreneurship and highlighted on the various opportunities available from the different government and private agencies.  Dr. D.K. Gangeshwar , Associate Professor, BIT Durg  pointed out that initiation, innovation and risk taking ability is very much needed to the young entrepreneurs.  Finally, the co-convenor of the cell proposed the vote of thanks and concluded the inauguration function.

International Yoga Day celebrated

International Yoga Day celebrated at St.Thomas College, Bhilai

The International Yoga Day was celebrated at St.Thomas College, Bhilai.  Students of St.Thomas College, NSS Volunteers and NCC Cadet of the college, Shri Shankaracharya College, Junwani and Kalyan College Bhilai, and faculty members of the college were present in  large number to enthusiastically participate in the program.  Principal o the college Dr. M.G.Roymon inaugurated the ceremony addressing the gathering, he spoke about the importance of yoga in our everyday life to keep as healthy and fit Dr.Debjani Mukherjee, Head (Dept. of Psychology) demonstrated the various AASANAS like Sukhaaasan, Pawan Muktasan, various Pranayams like AlomVilom, Bhramhi, Kapaalbharti and many more aasanas and also the healing power of these aasans in the human bodies.  NSS Officer Mr. Prateek Kumar Sharma presided the function NCC Officers Dr. Surekha Jawade and Mr. Lakshman Prasad were present on the occasion for smooth conduct of the program.

AGAAM – A Fest of St Thomas College Organised


 Aagam 2018 celebrated at St. Thomas College:

Mr Devendra Yadav , Mayor Durg,  Chhattisgarh graced the ceremony as a chief guest

 St. Thomas college Bhilai Celebrated  Aagam in a magnificent way, Mr Devendra Yadav , Mayor Durg,  Chhattisgarh graced the ceremony as a chief guest. In his highly motivating speech Mr. yadav appreciated the college for successfully organizating the three day cultural fest -Aagam. He also appreciated the graceful performances of the students in both academic and co-curricular activities. He further urged the young crowd to participate in such platform where they can reflect themselves in front of this world. He also motivated the students to cross the obstacles and face challenges in life with ease and insisted them to explore their potential in such programs. Principal Dr.M.G.Roymon in his address discussed about this glorious institution and stated that college indeed has a lot to celebrate as it looks back to the 34 years of its existence. He also focused on the triumphs and achievements of the college throughout these years. He also reflected the college position in very high in the educational map of India with academic, cultural and sports excellence and also he stressed the contribution of the college in rendering community services among the downtrodden students in various schools. He congratulated the student union members for maintaining their discipline throughout these three days of celebration.  Dr. Debjani Mukherjee Incharge of student’s union council welcomed the gathering. Administrator Rev. Fr George Mathew Ramban blessed the gathering. Other dignitaries present in the occasion were President student union Ms. Simran Whadwan, Vice President Ms Manisha Chandra, Secretary D.Shrishti , and Joint Secretary             M. Arehita Shrivastava & Cultural Secretary Mr. Shubham Busari. Trophies and certificates were distributed among the outstanding students who represented college at National and all India central zone inter- university tournament. The 34thannual Day ceremony concluded with the closing ceremony of the three day cultural fest Aagam. Various events like singing, dancing  and face of Aagaam were held successfully. The program was conducted by Dr. Sheeja Varkey,          Asst. Professor (Commerce Dept),  and the vote of thanks was proposed by D Shrishti .




St. Thomas College Re-accreditated at B++ Grade

  St. Thomas College, Bhilai has got re-accreditated with B++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore (with CGPA 2.77 out of 4.00). The three member NAAC peer team visited the college on 18th and 19th of September, 2017. The assessment is based on the standards of quality as set by NAAC.
