St. Thomas College, Bhilai Civil Services Aspirant Club Conducts a Counselling Program

The Civil Services Aspirant Club (CSAC), St. Thomas College, Bhilai, conducted a counseling programme for its members. Mr Sheikh S. Rehman UPSC  2015 qualifier was the resource person. He will be joining Indian Railway Traffic Services in December. Principal Dr. M.G Roymon chaired the session and spoke of the vision of the club and praised the students for joining it.  Administrator Father H.G. Rev Gee Varghese Ramban expressed his happiness on the conduct of such an informative programme.

Mr. Rehman gave first hand information regarding the study materials needed and the ways to prepare for the Civil Services. He stressed on the regular reading of the newspaper ‘The Hindu’ and said reading editorials of newspapers  is  a crucial and indispensable part of IAS preparation. He also gave emphasis on the AIR spotlight, current affairs, interview programs, Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha TV programs. Sharing the secret of his success  he said,  consistency in efforts and perseverance in character  are very important to achieve the goal.

The session was followed by a lively and interactive question-answer session. Mr. Rehman very patiently addressed all queries.

St.Thomas College Bhilai, has an active CSAC which on a regular basis conducts guidance activities for the preparation of the UPSC. Motivational lectures are also given to the members under this banner.

Convener of the CSAC Dr. Debjani Mukherjee spoke on the utility of such programmes and talked about the future programmes of this club. Dr. Susan Abraham, co convener of the club assisted in organizing the programme and Dr. Sujata Koley conducted the programme.
